This works really well and clips onto the kindle cover. There is a bit of glare if you don't get the angle right!

It is a great little light that I use with my kindle for reading in the car, or late night reading.
The one draw back is storing it between uses. I may have to find a phone size neoprene pouch for it.
It folds in half; but because it isn't completely flat it does need something to protect it when not in use.

Very light, easy to clip onto Kindle or reading wallett. It gives a very clear light across the whole of the page without casting any shadows, unlike other lights I have previously pruchased. The only drawback if you use the light quite frequently to read, is trying to find batteries that last a long period of time. I purchased the Panasonic batteries, although they last longer than others, they still fade out after a period of 4-5 hours.

Best torch I own, 24 Nov 2009

I first looked at maglites after seeing them on TV back in the early 80's and desperately wanted one. At the time I bought mine I was about 15 and used it on various camping trips and it was excellent.
A few years later I joined up and used my maglite on deployments and every day work on my unit (even used it as a hammer when one was not to hand, not the wisest move but I was young).

It is now over twenty years since I bought it and it is only on its second bulb (the spare that came with it) and continues to light my way when out walking my dog at night. I am now getting the LED conversion for it.

It has a few scrathes and scrapes but it has continued to work fantastically well despite the poor treatment it received early on.

If you want a bright but not too bright torch this is great it may not be a million candle power or hundreds of lumens but it is bright. We live out in the sticks with no street lamps and it is bright enough.

Mine cost around fifty pounds back in the eighties and is worth every penny and the wait(took me well over a year to save my pocket money). With the standard bulb back then it was advertised as 30,000 candlepower not sure if that is accurate but it is bright enough.

It is exceptional value.

Having owned a number of different torches of this type I am impressed with the build quality and materials used. The LED is incredibly bright and focusing from flood to spot is made easy, due to the textured focus ring which gives good grip even when your hands are cold and wet.

Great product and at less than £25.00 you can't beat it.

Very inconsistent product, 29 Aug 2009

I am very disappointed with this. The problem seems to be that the build quality/quality control is very inconsistent. I bought one as a birthday present for my brother and another for myself. It turned out that he had previously bought one for his girlfriend so we had three to compare against each other.
The good- My brothers one was great, it glowed really nicely and would charge up on his living room windowsill, no small feat when you consider that he lives in the west of Scotland, a place not known for its sunny climate.
The mediocre- His girlfriend one also charges on the windowsill and glows, but nowhere near as brightly. Having said that both will light in his living room with other lamps on.
The bad-Mine! I live in Nottinghamshire and I am lucky enough to have a conservatory but mine more or less refuses to charge any more than enough to produce a pitiful glow and if you turn on any other light, no matter how dim, it will just go out.
If you are lucky enough to get a good one then you have a lovely product; if not then you get a disappointingly expensive jam jar and given that we got one really good one out of three the odds are not that good. If you are thinking of buying one of these then bear in mind that you are likely to be playing sun jar roulette. Tighten up your quality control suck uk or your company name will find itself appended to your product.

Pretty but does it work?, 6 Dec 2008

I bought my sun jar recently and was delighted with it's lovely warm orange glow. I also loved the idea of being able to leave it outside to recharge and have it glowing again by nightfall. I've been disappointed however with how little it recharged. I tried changing the battery but the same problem occurs - the first night it glows brightly and is lovely. The second a little less...etc...etc until there is nothing left. I live in the Canary Islands and we have quite a bit of sun even in winter - if it doesn't work very well here it must be worse in the UK. I've ended up charging the battery in a charger because the jar is pretty but that does rather defeat the object of a solar powered light!

Bought this and the Sun Jar to sit in the conservatory on those lazy sunny afternoons, and that is exactly what you need to charge it properly. Bright days are not good enough so I was a little disappointed when I bought this in the winter and the charge didn't last long. However, now we have some decent sun the jars charge and glow with a dreamlike presence, and is well worth the money. They look so magical glowing in the corner, as if some fairy had been caught ib the jar.

Bought this for my new Kindle so I can read at night without waking up my OH; does the job perfectly! If anything it's too bright - I have to adjust it so the light doesn't shine back off the screen. Luckily the flexible neck makes this very easy and it's the work of moments to get to a comfortable reading position.

The light is perfectly good for reading normal books at night - although probably better with hardbacks or decent sized paperbacks than slimmer volumes. It's also a great utility light for DIY, model making, crafts or any other situation where you need both hands free.

The clip is clearly specifically designed for the Kindle as it is shaped to fit the device securely without quite overlapping the screen. However, if you use a Kindle case then the light will also clip securely to the open part of the case.

All in all, great little product, very happy with it!
